【正文】一、教学目标
1. 能听懂含有频度副词的句子,并理解其意义。
2. 能描述亲朋好友过生日的情况。
二、 教学重点及难点
1. 句型Would you like to do sth.?
——Yes, I would love to.
2. 一般现在时的频度副词的用法。
三、 教具:录音机、磁带、图片
四、教学过程
Step 1 Greeting and warming up
Teacher say to the class
T: Good morning, class.
How are you today?
Do you like having birthday parties?
And what do you usually do at the party ?
Make the students answer the questions.
Step 2 Present the new lesson
T: Now,let’s come to a boy’s birthday party.
Please open your books to Page48, and look at
Part1.
Let the students look at the picture and ask,
T: What can you see in the picture?
What are they doing now?
Get the answers for these questions.
Step 3 Listen to the tape and number the words as you hear them.
Then check the answers with the students.
Step 4 Listen and read
Teacher tell the students
T: OK, this Saturday is Daming’s birthday. And he
wants to have a birthday party.
Now, first, let’s listen to the tape, and then tell me “what does Daming usually do at his birthday party?”
Make the students get the answers:
a. We have a birthday party dinner, we usually eat noodles.
b. We eat birthday cake ,too.
c. We sometimes give birthday cards.
d. We always sing “Happy Birthday”song in Chinese and in English.
e. We sometimes get birthday presents.
Teacher says:
OK, very good. Now,listen to the tape again and repeat sentence by sentence.
Then ask the students to look at the screen and check the true sentences.
Teacher asks:
Which sentences are true? (1,4)
Step 5 Language points
1. 句型Would you like to do sth. 你愿意或想要……吗?(用来表示客气的邀请、请求或征求对方的意见)
如:Would you like to go shopping with me?
肯定回答常用:Yes, I’d love to. 或Yes, very much.
否定回答常用:Sorry.或I’d love to, but…..(跟拒绝的理由)。
拓展:would you like to do sth.想要做某事
=want to do sth.
2.party是可数名词,复数形式是parties
3.频度副词never(从不),always(一直、总是),usually(通常),often(经常),sometimes(有时)通常用于一般现在时态中,常放于行为动词之前,be动词、情态动词、或助动词之后。
4. give sb.sth.给某人某物
=give sth. to sb.把某物给某人
如:She gives me a card.她送给我一张卡片。
=She gives a card to me.
5. 当有人跟你说“Happy Birthday to you”时,你应该回答“Thank you.”
6. Do you sing it in Chinese or in English?你们用汉语唱还是英语?——这是一个选择疑问句,其回答不是用Yes或No,而是选择问句中的一个。
Step 6 Complete the exercises of Part4 and Part5. And then check the answers with the students.
Step 7 Task: Ask the students to make a dialogue about choosing presents.
First, tell the students: It is Daming’s birthday tomorrow. Betty and Susan are talking about choosing a present for him.
Then, ask the students to use the following words to make a dialogue.
Want to, give, a book; but, doesn’t like, reading; likes, football; How about, football; good idea
Step 8 Sing the “Happy Birthday” song
Tell the students : Today is my birthday. Can you sing the “Happy Birthday” song for me ?
Let the students sing the song together as a birthday present for you.
Step 9 Homework

B. My mom’s birthday present.
C. What does your mother like?
D. What do you want to give her?
E. When is your mother’s birthday?
Ben: Hi, Ann! What are you thinking about?
